The Registry shows 10 sex offenders living in Beltrami County in Q2

There was the same number of registered sex offenders living in Beltrami County in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter, according to the Minnesota Public Registrant Search.

There are 10 sex offenders registered in Beltrami County in the second quarter of 2023.

The Registry shows one of these sex offender is sexual predator. In Minnesota, convicted predatory offenders also are subject to certain mandatory sentencing laws that are designed to minimize their chances to re-offend.

Minnesota legislation about sex offenders and predators is currently being evaluated and revised, such as if offenders with good behavior can be removed from the Registry.

Tadashi David AndersenCriminal sexual conduct in the third degreeOffender has a history of engaging in sexual contact with a minor female victim (age 14) on numerous occasions. Contact included penetration. Offender gained access to victim by "meeting her" on-line and then meeting in person. Prior juvenile history of viewing child pornography and sexual contact with two minor male victims, ages 5 & 8. Offender was known to victims.
Jeffrey Thomas BallekCriminal sexual conduct in the first degreeJeffrey Ballek engaged in sexual contact with two known female children on multiple occasions over an extended period of time. Contact included sexual touching and penetration. Ballek also possessed child sex abuse images.
Richard Dean DerbyUse of minors in sexual performance prohibitedRichard Derby engaged in sexual conduct with a known female child. Conduct included recording her while instructing her to pose in a sexually explicit manner. Manipulation was used to gain compliance. At age 17, Derby also engaged in sexual contact with a known female teenager.
Michael Warren SmithCriminal sexual conduct in the first degree, criminal sexual conduct in the second degreeMichael Smith engaged in sexual contact and conduct with a known male toddler. Contact included penetration; conduct included exposure. Smith used his position of authority to gain compliance.
