CITY OF CALEDONIA: Update regarding COVID-19 May 21

Update

City of Caledonia issued the following announcement on May 21.

We want to send you some updates on current guidance regarding the COVID-19 virus. As many of you are aware, Governor Walz changed the “Stay-At-Home” order to a “Stay Safe MN” order which will be in place until June 1st. The new Stay Safe MN directive takes initial steps to re-open Minnesota, but the spread of the COVID-19 virus is only anticipated to grow in the weeks ahead as interaction between people increases. Please remember that individuals can have COVID-19 and be asymptomatic, but still transmit the virus. Because the population we serve is at high-risk for COVID-19 infection, federal and state guidelines restrict us from relaxing rules for visiting and leaves at this time. This means that we are still not able to have visitors unless it is an end-of-life situation and residents should not leave facility grounds unless it is for an essential reason such as a doctor’s appointment.

As of today, we still have not had a confirmed case of COVID-19 in our facility, residents or staff. We are working diligently every day to try to keep it that way by coordinating with industry leaders and public health officials to establish clear safeguards and protocols to prevent the transmission of the virus within our facility.

We know it’s difficult for families during this time, and we look forward to getting past this crisis so that loved ones can be reunited in our facilities. We want to ensure that family members and friends can continue regular communication with residents, so please do not hesitate to contact us to set up a videoconferencing session, a phone call, or to pass along an email message. To set something up, please email us at info@claddaghseniorliving.com.

Dealing with this situation has been challenging for all of us, but we want to thank you for your continued understanding and compassion. We hope you are all staying well and safe! Please don't hesitate to call us with questions.
