State Representative Krista Knudsen of Minnesota has expressed her support for President Donald Trump's recent signing of the HALT Fentanyl Act. This legislation aims to combat the opioid crisis that is affecting families and communities nationwide.

Knudsen stated, "I applaud President Trump for taking decisive action by signing the HALT Fentanyl Act into law. This is a major step forward in addressing the deadly opioid crisis that continues to tear apart families and communities across the country."

In Minnesota, Knudsen has been active in legislative efforts against fentanyl. She authored a bill that increased penalties for those who expose children to this dangerous substance. Although a provision regarding vulnerable adults was removed during negotiations, she emphasized the importance of this law as a significant advancement.

"These are not victimless crimes, and we must treat them with the seriousness they deserve," Knudsen remarked. She added that federal actions like these bolster her state-level initiatives and demonstrate a strong commitment to holding offenders accountable.

The new federal law will provide enhanced tools for law enforcement agencies aiming to curb fentanyl trafficking. "President Trump’s attention to this issue is important for public safety and for the thousands of Americans who are struggling with the devastating impact of fentanyl," Knudsen noted. "The HALT Fentanyl Act will give law enforcement stronger tools to fight back and help save lives."
