Sebeka Public School District: MCA and MTAS Reading results for 2021-22 school year

Sebeka Public School District ranked third in the Wadena County for test participation, with 242 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Sebeka Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 6.2% from the previous year.

Sebeka Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 54% in 2021-22 school year.

Third grade students stood out with 22% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, fifth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 35% not meeting the expected standards.

Sebeka Public School District encompasses schools within Wadena County and has a main office in Sebeka.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
