MCA and MTAS: How many Menahga Public School District students took their Math tests in 2021-22 school year?

Menahga Public School District ranked fourth in the Wadena County for test participation, with 217 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Menahga Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 14.2% over the previous year.

Menahga Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 46% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 31% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 65% not meeting the expected standards.

Menahga Public School District encompasses schools within Wadena County and has a main office in Menahga.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
