Republican Spencer Igo has won the race for House District 5B, defeating opponent Joe Abeyta.
Igo expressed gratitude in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Nov. 4.
“I am humbled to be given this opportunity to serve my home district of 5B and be your voice in St. Paul. To everyone that has been part of the journey, thank you, you were a blessing and an inspiration. Now it’s time for all our Northland to unite and bring our best days to reality!#GoForIgo.”
Abeyta took to Facebook to concede.
“I would like to thank everyone who showed their support, volunteered their time, and voted. I would also like to congratulate Spencer Igo on his win. While the results may not have come out the way we would have liked, I am very proud of all the hard work we did as a team. Thank you everyone.”
