Republican Matt Bliss has won the race for House District 5A, defeating incumbent John Persell. Bliss previously served as state representative from 2017 to 2019.
Bliss expressed gratitude in a statement posted on her Facebook page on Nov. 4.
“Well after a long night and another long day waiting for absentee ballots to be counted the final results are in. I am honored to once again have the great people of 5A place their trust in me to represent our values in St. Paul. Thank you!”
