State Rep. Matt Grossell (R-Clearbrook) recently took to Facebook to accuse Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison of improperly using his position by joining in a lawsuit against energy companies.

The lawsuit in question was also joined by District of Columbia Attorney General Karl Racine, according to coverage by the Washington Examiner. The suit alleges that Exxon Mobil Corp., Koch Industries and the American Petroleum Institute have participated in a “conspiracy to deceive the public about climate change.”

“Attorney General Keith Ellison, when not harassing small businesses trying to survive any way they can, is leading frivolous Bloomberg-backed lawsuits against energy companies,” Grossell stated in a post to his official Facebook page. “Thousands of Minnesotans are employed with good-paying jobs in the energy sector – Keith Ellison and his radical environmentalists want those to go away. The AG should stick to upholding the law and not use his office to play political games.”
