Minnesota Sen. Paul Utke gave an update on COVID-19 pandemic information, highlighting the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program.
On Facebook, Utke told Minnesota residents that DEED automatically sets up Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) benefits accounts for anyone that is eligible.
"If you have not heard from DEED yet, they expect to be in touch with most people who are eligible for benefits under PUA by the end of April," Utke said on Facebook. "There is no need to call or follow-up. You will hear from them proactively if they need additional information to determine eligibility."
Utke said anyone who is eligible will receive information on their benefits through their account, email and mail.
"Applicants who receive PUA benefits will also receive the $600/week additional payment," Utke said on Facebook. "PUA benefits will be backdated to whenever you first became eligible due to COVID-19."
