Akeley United Methodist Church issued the following announcement on April 30.

In-person Worship Suspension Extended Through the Month of May
Greetings AUMC family:
It has been mid-March since we last worshiped together at the Akeley UMC building.
However, our not being able to gather as a congregation, has neither kept us from both personal and family times of worship, nor has it kept us from sharing a weekly worship experience online (Since you are receiving this e-mail all you need to do to enjoy this internet worship opportunity is double click on this link facebook.com/AkeleyUnitedMethodistChurch and you can access the church’s Facebook account. YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A PERSONAL FACEBOOK ACCOUNT TO DO THIS! Scroll now and click on Videos and you will be able to view each posted Sunday morning worship service under its respective title “Internet Worship [with date].”).
The question remains when and how will the churches of Minnesota be able to open to public, in-person worship? It is evident it will be a gradual process. In light of it needing to happen in phases, our resident Bishop Bruce Ough is asking every Minnesota congregation to continue to suspend in-person worship through May and during the time of suspension of in-person worship to spend that time carefully and prayerfully developing a plan for how to return to in-person worship in a gradual manner while continuing to strictly adhere to federal and state recommendations.
You may read the detail outline of steps shared on the Minnesota Annual Conference website by going to this link minnesotaumc.org and reading the article entitled, “Guidance for Returning to In-person Worship.”
We continue to trust the leading of the Holy Spirit as we together experience meaningful ways of both worshiping God and sharing the mission of our Lord.
In Christ,
Pastor Don Bird 218-252-4069 pastordon@arvig.net
