Moldenhauer’s New Book Focuses on Law Enforcement Safety

Drew Moldenhauer, Bemidji State University assistant professor of criminal justice, recently co-authored and published “How Smart Police Officers Use Situational Awareness to Improve Safety” with Dr. Richard B. Gasaway.

“Improving safety is the goal of every smart police officer,” Moldenhauer said. “This book will help police officers and supervisors improve safety by understanding how to develop and maintain strong situational awareness and how to improve high-risk, high-consequence decision making.”

Moldenhauer has a master’s degree in in public safety executive leadership from St. Cloud State University and is a police officer for the city of Osseo. He joined BSU in July 2022.
