What was it like to live in the 1950s? For those who lived during the days of Elvis, sock hops, cruising, going steady, and malts, they were the best of times. Join the Bemidji Public Library as we welcome author and educator John Eggers, Saturday, November 19 at three p.m. at the library, 509 America Avenue, Bemidji, and look back at a decade of change in small-town Minnesota.
John Eggers is a retired teacher and author whose most recent book paints a picture of how it was to live in small-town Minnesota when a teen’s world consisted of what was going on within a twenty-mile radius of home. Join us at the library on November 19 at 3:00 p.m. as we listen to John talk about the times when the only care in the world was the opening day of duck season, having a cherry coke at the Red Top Cafe, or who you would take to the dance after the basketball game.
